Washing
Machine wash warm, up to 40°C. Tumble dry low or line dry. Wash every one to two weeks, as you would any fitted sheet.
What damages the conductive fibre
- Bleach — degrades the silver. Never use it.
- Fabric softener and dryer sheets — leave a coating that insulates the fibre. This is the most common way people unknowingly stop their sheet working.
- Oils and lotions — heavy body oils build up over time. Wash more often if you use them nightly.
- Very hot washes — above 40°C shortens the life of the fibre.
Checking it still works
Use the conductivity tester included with your sheet. If the reading has changed, the usual cause is softener residue; two washes without any additives normally restores it.
How long it lasts
The conductive fibre degrades with washing. We would rather you check it periodically than assume it is working indefinitely, which is why the tester is in the box.
